my eye is swollen and oh so sore and noone wants to look after me. so heres for optomism again, i want
1. a hot ass like this

2. cool art on my walls

3. to live a beautiful life

4. to play dressup everyday
5. and a magical rooftop

just because i can. and because my eye is all droopy and unattractive and i’m sad about that.
as i have diagnosed myself with seasonal affective disorder (i.e. winter depresses me), i thought i should try and be more positive.
1. rainy nights (and days) in bed

2. hot beverages: hot chocolate, coffee and mulled wine

3. movie marathons (by the fire)

4. dinner parties! definitely having a mid-winter christmas dinner party this year.

5. winter clothing, of course. (cocorosa - one of my favourites)

1. big cozy knit pieces (vintage)

2. effortlessly cool hair

3. so many boots. (clockwise from top left - co-op barneys boots in tan and blue?, topshop millie canvas boot, topshop waffle lace up wood wedge, timberland, jeffrey campbell mary roks)

4. russian fur hat… not this one but i just liked the photo. not real fur of course, preferably chocolate brown with ear flaps.

5. sunday blouse and gloria sheer pant from ruby. hooray for see-through! perhaps not winter-practical but…

i made these just a few weeks ago with my friend Tanja for my boyfriend’s birthday and they were so so delicious, i made a double batch and ended up with mooore than enough for both him and my family. my oven is crazy so we only cooked them for ten minutes, they seemed undercooked but after a few minutes on the cooling rack they were pretty much the most perfect things we had ever tasted. we made both chocolate chip AND white chocolate and macadamia versions of these. heavveeennnnn…

“Oversized, thick, with crisp outer edges and a densely chewy center.”
1 cup unsalted butter (or substitute 1/4 cup golden Crisco for 1/4 cup of the butter)
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups chocolate chips (or coarse chopped, semi sweet chocolate chunks)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Cream the butter with the brown and white sugars until well blended. Stir in vanilla and egg.
Fold in flour, baking soda, salt and lastly, chocolate chips. Chill dough one hour.
Form into rounds the size of a golf ball and place, two inches apart, on baking sheet.
Bake in a preheated 350 degrees F. oven until just light brown around the edges (14-16 minutes). Too much baking will make cookies hard. Cool on racks. They may seem a little underdone, but will set up as they cool.
Makes about 2 1/2 dozen

my hair is so ratty. i am happy to spend an entire day watching movies. i have an aversion to pants. i spend money too easily. i think i have seasonal affective disorder. i could drink orange juice for the rest of my life. i managed to actually become the relationship type. sometimes I get so delusional that I think I can actually sing. i love breakfast in bed. i’m scared of phone calls except for like three people in the world. i want to be in bed. (withyou)
